Remembering Sesame Street Icon Bob McGrath!
Hello everyone. Sunday Dec 4th we said good by to long time Sesame Street actor Bob McGrath. Born June 13, 1932 in Ottawa, Illinois, Bob was a main character on Sesame Street from 1969 – 2016, but also appeared in the 2019, 50th anniversary Sesame Street TV special and the 2021 Sesame Street documentary. I can remember Bob as far back as I can remember.
Back in my day we only had a few stations so as a 3 year old there wasn’t many choices but honestly Sesame Street was a staple show and Bob was one of the first icons I can remember from TV. He had a great run with nearly 50 years on the same show. My heart goes out to Bob’s wife of over sixty year Ann, his family, and friends from many decades. RIP Bob you will be dearly missed and your legacy will live on in your many years on Sesame Street.
